As a woman who has attended many concerts with my dad, I knew I had to see this movie. It was giving girl dad and concert girlie energy. This film is for the ones who have spent hours in virtual queues, waited in line for merch or GA wristbands, spent too much time picking out the perfect concert outfit, and spent too much on merch and overpriced food at the venue. This is also for the girls that read self-insert fanfics because Riley was literally living the y/n dream. The ones that get it get it. Here are my thoughts on Trap (2024).

Aging is a complicated topic. Some people start to think about it when they are teenagers. Some will do anything to prevent it from happening. Others don’t think about it at all, and that is how I felt about aging until I saw The Substance (2024). This film forces you to think about aging and how you view yourself in society. Everyone has some anxiety connected with getting older, even if you don’t believe you do.

When people were up in arms about Zoe Saldaña winning Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role in any Motion Picture and Emilia Pérez winning Best Motion Picture—Musical or Comedy at the 2025 Golden Globes, I knew I had to watch this film despite not being the biggest fan of musicals. I didn’t hate the movie, but how was this the most nominated film at the 2025 Oscars?

While I was sailing a Virgin Voyages cruise while in Honduras, it rained all day, and I decided not to let that ruin the day and instead turned this would be port day into a stay inside the cabin, ordering Ship Eats, and watching movies all day kind of day. I decided to watch Borderlands (2024). And, imma be honest: it was a mess, but I didn’t hate it. I would watch it again.

So, while on my first Virgin Voyages cruise, I wanted to take advantage of the included movies on demand, and the selection was vast. I rewatched Rise of Skywalker (2019) and realized how much I missed Ben Solo. I sat through Borderlands (2024) for Cate Blanchett and Cate Blanchett only. Right after that film, I wanted to keep with the theme of bad movies, so I put on It Ends With Us (2024). Surprisingly enough, I actually liked the movie and even gave it four stars on Lettertboxd.

When Warner Bros. announced that it would be remaking Harry Potter into a TV show, I hated the idea. At the time, I had never watched the movies or read the books. Fast-forward a few years, and I just finished watching the films for the first time. I fell in love with Wizarding World and surprisingly changed my feelings about the TV series remake.

I only watched 19 films in 2024 compared to the 40+ I watched in 2023. Still, one of the most notable things I did was watch the Harry Potter movies for the first time. After rewatching Call Me By Your Name, I wanted to watch other movies directed by Luca Guadagnino. I finally got around to watching another of his films, Challengers, one of the most hyped films of the year. I went in with high expectations and was thoroughly disappointed.

When we learn Sheba has been having an affair with one of her students, at first, it is hard to fathom this happening, but you have to look at everything this woman has gone through. It is not right or acceptable for her to do this, but you can’t be too shocked that she did it.

After watching season one in two weeks and feeling numb after the season two finale, I wanted to write about all of the things I loved and the one thing I did not like about House of the Dragon seasons one and two as a person whose only real exposure to Game of Thrones was watching the Red Wedding scene on YouTube the day after that episode aired because EVERYONE was talking about it.

2023 was a pretty good film year for me. According to Letterboxd, I spent 89.5 hours of the year watching movies, approximately 3.7 days. Here is every film I watched in 2023.

Carol is one of my favorite films, so I knew I had to watch Todd Haynes's newest film, May December, once it landed on Netflix, and I went into this one blind. I didn't even watch the trailers and was very shocked by the film's subject matter, but ultimately walked away from it disturbed, inspired, and ready to start an Oscar campaign for Charles Melton.

So this post was supposed to be a review of my rewatch of season one, but it turned into a short character analysis of Edward Teach, aka Blackbeard, because I didn’t realize how complex of a character he was during my initial watch of this season over a year ago.

I watched M3gan three times in three months. In theaters, the unrated version on Peacock, and during my flight back to the US from Rome. I noticed new things about Gemma and her reasoning for making M3gan each time I watched it.

I was expecting a film filled with the fun, campy adventures of Barbie & Ken, but instead, I cried with laughter and emotion.
